One Nation Under A Groove

On November 4, 2008...there were so many songs 2 sing!
While on one side of town, somebody had to be rocking out
Born in the U.S.A. by Bruce Springsteen,
somewhere else, no doubt, somebody was pumping
Living in America by James Brown

After Obama's win yesterday there were people dancing in the streets in Jakarta, New York, Nairobi, Paris, Berlin, Tokyo -
this song is perfect for the occasion.
It's not the end, its just the beginning!"
Quote from poster, haasxaar on You tube on  Dancing in the Street

In a whole 'nother part of town and across the world...
they were pumping
Dancing in the Street
by Martha and the Vandellas.
(Lyrical Excerpts)
Callin' out around the world
Are you ready for a brand new beat?
Summer's here and the time is right
For dancin' in the streets
They're dancin' in Chicago
Down in New Orleans
Up in New York City

All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin', swayin' and records playin'
And dancin' in the streets

This is an invitation
Across the nation
A chance for the folks to meet
There'll be laughin' and singin' and music swingin'
And dancin' in the streets......

Of course, P-Funk album cover artist, Pedro Bell captures it best
with his painting of the album cover for
ONE NATION UNDER A GROOVE by George Clinton.

(Lyric excerpts)
Ready or not here we come
Gettin' down on the one which
We believe in
One nation under a groove,
gettin' down just for the funk
(Can I get it on my good foot)
Gettin' down just for the funk of it
(Good God)
'bout time I got down one time
One nation and we're on the move
Nothin' can stop us now
(Aye aye aye aye aye)
